1. Purpose

Honest Dating (“HD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a dating and social connection platform designed to help people overcome loneliness through meaningful human connections.

Our community is built on trust, fairness, respect, personal autonomy, and intentional participation.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy” or “AUP”) establishes the standards of behavior required of everyone using Honest Dating.

It explains what is permitted, what is prohibited, and how we may respond when members violate these standards.

Our objective is to provide an environment where people can pursue romantic relationships, friendships, shared interests, and social connections without exploitation, deception, harassment, or unnecessary pressure.

2. Scope and Applicability

This Policy applies to all members and anyone accessing or using Honest Dating.

It covers all interactions conducted through the Service, including:

Registration and account management.
Profile information and photographs.
Discover and profile interactions.
Romantic Likes and their accompanying explanations.
Friendship Offers and their accompanying explanations.
Private messages, voice calls, and video calls.
Target Me posts, targeting criteria, public discussions, and private replies.
Any other content, communication, or functionality provided through Honest Dating.

This Policy also applies to conduct outside the Service where there is a sufficient connection to Honest Dating and the conduct creates a relevant risk to member safety or platform integrity.

This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Members must comply with both documents.

3. Age and Account Eligibility

Honest Dating is exclusively for adults aged 18 or older.

The following activities are prohibited:

Registering or using Honest Dating while under 18.
Providing a false date of birth to circumvent age restrictions.
Creating an account on behalf of a minor.
Allowing another person, including a minor, to use your account.
Creating an account to circumvent an existing suspension or ban.
Using another person's account without authorization.

We may restrict or terminate accounts where we reasonably determine that eligibility requirements have not been met.

4. Authenticity and Honest Representation

Members must represent themselves truthfully.

Honest Dating requires human verification and verification of the main profile photograph to help establish a trusted community.

You must not:

Impersonate another person.
Create fake or fraudulent profiles.
Use another person's photographs without authorization.
Misrepresent your identity for fraudulent, exploitative, or malicious purposes.
Manipulate or circumvent liveness verification.
Attempt to deceive our face-consistency verification process.
Create duplicate accounts to manipulate the Service or evade restrictions.
Use automated systems to create or operate accounts.
Misrepresent your age or other material profile information to deceive other members.

Members may express themselves authentically, including through their interests, personal perspectives, and relationship intentions.

Honest Dating's verification process does not constitute legal identity or government-ID verification.

5. Respect, Consent, and Personal Boundaries

Every member has the right to decide how they wish to interact with others.

Members must respect another person's decision not to respond, not to establish a connection, or not to continue an existing interaction.

The following conduct is prohibited:

Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threats.
Repeated unwanted contact.
Stalking or attempts to track another member without permission.
Sexual harassment.
Coercion or manipulation intended to obtain romantic, sexual, financial, or personal favors.
Pressuring someone to disclose personal information.
Pressuring someone to participate in a voice call, video call, or in-person meeting.
Retaliating against someone for declining or ending an interaction.
Circumventing another member's block or other communication restrictions.
Using another account or third party to contact someone who has blocked you.

A Match, accepted Friendship Offer, previous conversation, or previous in-person meeting does not create an obligation to continue interacting.

Consent must be respected at every stage of an interaction.

6. Prohibited Sexual Content and Exploitation

Honest Dating facilitates legitimate adult dating and social connections. It must not be used to facilitate sexual exploitation or prohibited commercial sexual activities.

The following are strictly prohibited:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual exploitation of minors.
Sexual content involving, depicting, or soliciting minors.
Grooming or attempting to establish exploitative relationships with minors.
Non-consensual intimate imagery.
Threatening to disclose another person's intimate images.
Sextortion or sexual blackmail.
Soliciting, advertising, arranging, or facilitating prostitution or commercial sexual services.
Offering or requesting sexual activity in exchange for money, gifts, financial assistance, or other compensation.
Trafficking, sexual coercion, or exploitation.
Sharing explicit sexual content without the recipient's consent.
Using Honest Dating to distribute pornography or promote adult-content businesses.

Members may discuss adult relationships and sexuality respectfully, provided their conduct remains lawful, consensual, and consistent with this Policy.

7. Fraud, Scams, and Financial Solicitation

Honest Dating must not be used to deceive, exploit, or financially manipulate other members.

Prohibited activities include:

Romance scams.
Requesting money under false pretenses.
Fraudulent investment or cryptocurrency opportunities.
Pyramid schemes and multilevel marketing recruitment.
Financial impersonation.
Phishing or attempts to obtain banking credentials.
Soliciting gift cards, cryptocurrency transfers, or other payments through deception.
Promoting fraudulent products, services, or employment opportunities.
Using romantic or friendship interactions to establish trust for financial exploitation.

Members must not use Honest Dating as a financial marketplace or fundraising platform.

Legitimate personal conversations about financial matters are not inherently prohibited. The restriction concerns solicitation, exploitation, unauthorized commercial activity, and conduct inconsistent with the Service's intended purpose.

8. Commercial Activity, Advertising, and Spam

Honest Dating is intended for personal dating, friendship, and social connection—not unsolicited commercial promotion.

Without prior written authorization from Honest Dating, members must not:

Advertise products or services.
Recruit members into commercial schemes.
Promote external dating platforms.
Distribute unsolicited promotional messages.
Use profiles or Target Me posts primarily to generate commercial leads.
Conduct mass marketing campaigns.
Sell access to profiles, contacts, or conversations.
Operate commercial bots or automated promotional accounts.

Members may naturally discuss their work, businesses, professional interests, or activities as part of genuine personal interactions.

For example, asking others to join a hiking activity is permitted, provided it is not a disguised commercial solicitation or otherwise prohibited activity.

9. Hate Speech, Discrimination, and Abusive Conduct

Honest Dating respects individual preferences and personal autonomy.

Members may express legitimate romantic, friendship, lifestyle, cultural, and personal preferences.

However, the Service must not be used to promote hatred, dehumanization, harassment, or discriminatory abuse.

Prohibited conduct includes:

Advocating violence against individuals or groups.
Threatening or degrading people based on protected characteristics.
Promoting extremist violence.
Targeted harassment based on identity or personal attributes.
Encouraging exclusion, humiliation, or mistreatment through abusive content.
Using demographic or identity information to facilitate exploitation.

Having personal dating preferences is not, by itself, a violation of this Policy.

Moderation decisions must consider the relevant content, context, intent, and conduct rather than automatically treating the expression of a personal preference as abusive.

10. Target Me — Responsible Audience Targeting

Target Me allows members to initiate conversations with a deliberately selected audience.

Its purpose is to help members reach relevant people for legitimate dating, friendship, activities, discussions, advice, and shared interests.

Because Target Me provides intentional audience selection, additional safeguards apply.

10.1 Permitted Uses

Examples of acceptable Target Me activity include:

Looking for someone interested in a particular activity.
Inviting eligible members to a social gathering.
Starting a discussion about a shared interest.
Seeking friendship or romantic connections.
Asking for advice or recommendations.
Connecting with people who share relevant experiences or perspectives.

10.2 Prohibited Uses

Members must not use Target Me to:

Target people for harassment or humiliation.
Exploit demographic, identity, or lifestyle attributes.
Facilitate fraud or financial manipulation.
Distribute hateful or threatening content.
Solicit prohibited sexual services.
Identify or target vulnerable individuals for exploitation.
Collect personal information without authorization.
Distribute spam or disguised commercial advertisements.
Circumvent blocking, privacy, or account restrictions.
Coordinate unlawful or harmful activities.

10.3 Identity-Based Targeting

Using an available identity or demographic attribute as an audience-selection criterion is not automatically prohibited.

For example, a legitimate conversation intended for people sharing a particular language, experience, or interest may use relevant targeting criteria.

Honest Dating evaluates the complete submission, including:

The post's content.
The selected audience.
The combination of targeting criteria.
The apparent purpose.
The relevant context.
Potential risks to recipients.

A targeting combination may be prohibited where its purpose or likely effect is abusive, discriminatory, deceptive, or exploitative.

10.4 Moderation Before Publication

Every Target Me submission is subject to automated moderation before publication.

A submission may be:

Approved for publication.
Rejected for violating applicable rules.
Referred for additional human review.

Members must not attempt to evade moderation through coded language, deliberate misspellings, misleading audience criteria, repeated submissions, or other circumvention techniques.

10.5 Incognito Responsibility

Where Incognito posting is available, members remain accountable for their conduct.

Incognito must not be used to harass, impersonate, threaten, defraud, or otherwise harm others.

Incognito does not prevent Honest Dating from enforcing this Policy or complying with applicable legal obligations.

11. Privacy and Personal Information

Members must respect the privacy and confidentiality of others.

The following are prohibited without appropriate authorization or another lawful basis:

Publishing another person's private contact information.
Sharing private conversations without the necessary permission where doing so violates another person's rights.
Distributing another member's photographs for harassment or exploitation.
Collecting personal information through scraping or automated extraction.
Attempting to discover protected registration information.
Attempting to obtain biometric information.
Tracking or identifying another member's precise location without permission.
Sharing intimate or sensitive information to intimidate, embarrass, or harm someone.
Using information obtained through Honest Dating for unrelated commercial or malicious purposes.

Members must not assume that information visible within Honest Dating is publicly available for unrestricted reuse.

12. Profile Photographs and Other Content

All content submitted to Honest Dating must be lawful and consistent with this Policy.

Members must not upload or distribute:

Images they do not have the right to use.
Photographs intended to impersonate another person.
Child sexual abuse material.
Non-consensual intimate imagery.
Content promoting violence or terrorism.
Threats or targeted harassment.
Fraudulent or deceptive advertisements.
Malicious links or files.
Content that unlawfully infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.

Profile photographs must comply with applicable verification requirements.

Honest Dating may reject or remove content that violates these standards.

13. Messaging, Voice Calls, and Video Calls

Private communication is intended to support established connections.

Members must not misuse messaging or calling functionality to:

Harass or intimidate others.
Send repeated unwanted communications.
Distribute unsolicited explicit content.
Conduct fraud or financial solicitation.
Threaten, blackmail, or extort another person.
Record or distribute private communications unlawfully.
Pressure another member to activate calling.
Circumvent a member's decision to end communication.

Voice and video calling require the applicable mutual activation process.

Members must respect another person's decision not to activate or participate in a call.

14. Platform Security and Technical Integrity

Members must not interfere with the security, reliability, or intended operation of Honest Dating.

Prohibited activities include:

Unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or databases.
Attempting to bypass authentication or verification.
Reverse-engineering protected systems except where expressly permitted by applicable law.
Introducing malware or malicious code.
Scraping member profiles or extracting platform data without authorization.
Using unauthorized bots or automated interaction tools.
Manipulating Discover, Likes, Friendship Offers, or Target Me.
Exploiting technical vulnerabilities.
Conducting denial-of-service attacks.
Circumventing rate limits or account restrictions.
Attempting to access another member's private information.
Interfering with moderation or administrative systems.

Security vulnerabilities should be reported responsibly to Honest Dating rather than exploited or publicly disclosed in a manner that creates additional risk.

15. Payment and Membership Integrity

Honest Dating operates a fair membership model in which members determine the value of their experience through monthly contribution selections.

All contribution amounts provide equal membership access.

Members must not:

Use stolen or unauthorized payment methods.
Commit payment fraud.
Manipulate payment or membership systems.
Exploit technical errors to obtain unauthorized benefits.
Misrepresent transactions to facilitate fraudulent refunds or chargebacks.
Use membership payments to disguise prohibited financial activity.
Circumvent applicable payment restrictions.

A member's legitimate selection of any available monthly contribution amount, including $1, is never considered misconduct.

Members are not required to justify their personal valuation of the Service.

Legitimate billing disputes, refund requests, and statutory consumer rights remain protected.

16. Illegal Activities and Prohibited Transactions

Honest Dating must not be used to facilitate, advertise, arrange, or promote unlawful activities.

This includes, without limitation:

Human trafficking.
Sexual exploitation.
Illegal drug distribution.
Weapons trafficking.
Money laundering.
Fraud and financial crime.
Terrorist activity or recruitment.
Organized criminal activity.
Sale or distribution of stolen goods.
Other activities prohibited by applicable law.

Members must not use Honest Dating to arrange prohibited transactions, even when payment or completion is intended to occur outside the Service.

17. Real-World Interactions and Member Safety

Honest Dating encourages meaningful connections that may progress into real life.

Members must respect the safety, autonomy, and consent of others during interactions arising from the Service.

We prohibit:

Using the Service to arrange violence or exploitation.
Threatening members during or after an in-person meeting.
Stalking someone after a connection ends.
Coercing another person into an unwanted meeting.
Using deceptive arrangements to place another member in danger.
Retaliating against someone for withdrawing consent or ending contact.

Members are encouraged to exercise appropriate personal judgment when meeting others.

Honest Dating does not guarantee the intentions, conduct, or safety of individual members.

18. Reporting Violations

Members are encouraged to report suspected violations of this Policy.

Reports may concern:

Profiles.
Messages.
Target Me posts and replies.
Fraudulent activity.
Harassment.
Threats.
Impersonation.
Verification concerns.
Other safety or policy violations.

Reports may be submitted through available in-platform reporting functionality or by contacting:

When submitting a report, members should provide relevant information that may help us understand and assess the concern.

Knowingly submitting fabricated reports to harass or retaliate against another member is prohibited.

Good-faith reports will not be treated as violations merely because an investigation does not substantiate the reported concern.

Honest Dating is not an emergency response service. Anyone facing immediate danger should contact the appropriate local emergency services.

19. Moderation and Enforcement

Honest Dating may investigate suspected violations using appropriate automated and human review processes.

We may consider:

The nature and severity of the conduct.
The available evidence.
Relevant context.
Potential harm to other members.
Whether the behavior was repeated.
Previous relevant enforcement history.
Applicable legal obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, enforcement measures may include:

Rejecting or removing content.
Issuing a warning.
Restricting particular features.
Requiring additional verification.
Temporarily suspending an account.
Permanently terminating an account.
Taking reasonable measures to prevent repeated abuse.
Preserving relevant evidence where legally justified.
Reporting unlawful conduct to competent authorities where required or otherwise legally permitted.

Serious violations may result in immediate action without a prior warning, subject to applicable law.

Enforcement decisions will be documented as appropriate.

20. Appeals and Review

Members may request a review of applicable moderation or enforcement decisions through the channels made available by Honest Dating.

Where required by applicable law, members will receive an explanation of relevant restrictions and access to appropriate review or complaint procedures.

Appeals will be assessed with regard to the available evidence, relevant context, applicable policies, and legal obligations.

Honest Dating may uphold, modify, or reverse an enforcement decision following review.

We may withhold information where disclosure would compromise another person's privacy, an active investigation, platform security, or applicable legal obligations.

21. Cooperation with Law Enforcement

Honest Dating may cooperate with competent law enforcement authorities in accordance with applicable law.

We may preserve or disclose relevant information where required or otherwise legally permitted, including in circumstances involving serious threats, exploitation, fraud, or other unlawful activity.

Official requests are handled under our separately published Law Enforcement Guidelines & Request Protocol.

We do not provide unrestricted access to member information merely upon request.

22. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, community safety requirements, applicable law, or operational practices.

The current version will be made publicly available through Honest Dating.

Where required by applicable law, members will be notified of material changes.
